Dennis Dale Anderson, founder of Andcor Companies, Inc., died May 27, 2008, at the age of 64 of complications from amyloidosis, a rare disease that attacks one's tissues and organs. Dennis will be remembered for his upbeat personality and for living life to the fullest. Dennis' family was always his highest priority.

Dennis founded Andcor Companies, Inc. in 1969 as a general employment agency. Over time, Andcor would transform the traditional paradigm of the recruiting industry by replacing less credible headhunting techniques with a highly respected, equity-for-services model. Under Dennis' guidance, Andcor became a leader in the advancement of strategic human resources, and an active angel investor for Minnesota-based, emerging growth companies.

Throughout his career, Dennis played an active role in the professional community:

  • Minnesota and National Chairman of the CEO Roundtable
The Dennis D. Anderson CEO Roundtable Scholarship was created in recognition of his leadership, and is presented to a graduate or undergraduate student at the University of St. Thomas' John M. Morrison Center for Entrepreneurship
  • Member of the Advisory Board and Ventures Plus Advisory Board for the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota
  • Named "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 1993 by the Twin West Chamber of Commerce
  • Cabinet member of the Minneapolis United Way, overseeing the Emerging Market Segment
  • Served on the Board of Directors of City House, a non-profit organization devoted to inspiring hope and tending to the spiritual life of the poor

Friends and family will remember Dennis' zest for life and competitive spirit. He loved to regale his daily push-up and sit-up totals to anyone who would listen. Dennis and his late wife Suzy traveled a great deal, and he continued to travel the world until very recently. He was also an avid skier and boater. And last but not least, Dennis would want everyone to know that he had been named "Best Groomed" and "Athlete of the Year" from various groups and associations.
