Wayzata, MN – October 16, 2006
Andcor Companies, Inc., the executive search firm for emerging companies, is pleased to announce Steven Meredith has joined Biothera's Healthcare Group as vice president, North American sales and marketing. He is responsible for sales of the company's immune health ingredients to product manufacturers in the dietary supplement, functional foods, cosmetics and animal nutrition markets.
Steve brings to Biothera more than a dozen years of experience in the sale and development of bulk ingredients for healthcare products. Most recently Steve was sales director at TSI Health Sciences, a provider of nutraceutical ingredients to the dietary supplement, pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries. He previously held positions with Weider Nutrition International and Thatcher Chemical Company.
Mr. Meredith will focus on sales of Biothera's patented and branded ingredients, Wellmune WGP and BetaRight 3-6, in North America. Numerous peer-reviewed studies support the ability of Biothera's ingredients to enhance the ability of innate immune cells to respond more quickly to a foreign challenge. Biothera ingredients are used in nutritional supplement and functional food products in more than 25 countries.
"Steve is an excellent addition to our sales and marketing team," said Richard Mueller, Biothera's president and chief executive officer. "He has extensive experience and understands the ingredient business from both the perspective of a supplier and manufacturer. Steve will work very closely with Allen Porter, Biothera's vice president of international sales and marketing, to manage this rapidly growing, global business."
"I'm excited about being part of the premier immune health company," said Steve. "Our products are supported by a tremendous amount of scientific research that shows they safely and significantly enhance immune function."
In addition to the search resulting in the placement of Steve at Biothera, Andcor also assisted in the recruitment of the company's Pharmaceutical Group's director of quality, Joyce Nelson, formerly of Alexandria Research Technologies and Viromed Laboratories, and its director of intellectual property, Catherine Benson, formerly of Kinney & Lange, P.A.
