Our legacy |
Andcor Companies Inc. is a Minnesota-based corporation founded in October 1969 by Dennis D. Anderson. In May 2008 Dennis, Andcor’s visionary leader, died of complications from a rare disease known as Amyloidosis.
Dennis, known by many as the godfather of local executive recruiters, was a key contributor to emerging companies in the state of Minnesota. Andcor, under Dennis' guidance, became a pioneer in the advancement of strategic human resources for emerging growth through middle-market companies.
Initially, Andcor focused on the entry level placement of college graduates into the professional marketplace. The importance of maintaining contact with college-level individuals led to the development of the first on-campus representative program in the country. As the company gained experience, prestige and history, its network of exceptional individuals grew. This collection of talent coupled with Andcor’s increasingly superior reputation drew Andcor into higher levels of search. Today, Andcor’s database contains the most extensive professional talent network in the region.
Early in its charter, Andcor made an important strategic decision to focus on Minnesota-based, emerging growth through middle-market companies. These are companies that Andcor can have a major impact while bringing them significant value. Targeting this niche resulted in Andcor’s current philosophy of true partnering with Andcor’s clients, enabling Andcor to clearly identify a company’s culture and enhancing the fit of the candidate to the company as well as the position.
Andcor gradually became nationally recognized for its commitment to client satisfaction through its nontraditional approach. The company became change agents within the industry, driving themselves and their competitors to higher levels of performance and service, clients and candidates. Commitments such as a one-year replacement guarantee on retained searches, refundable retainer agreements and the use of combined networks became standard for Andcor. By 1988, Andcor boasted the most quality-driven, comprehensive staffing service in the state of Minnesota. Additional services included a contract clerical (temporary) division and contract telemarketing.
In 1990, Andcor divested itself of the telemarketing services group. The temporary and clerical services group was then sold in 1992. Andcor’s focus narrowed to professional staffing, which led to the provision of integrated human resource development services. Andcor’s services evolved encompass all aspects of human resources issues, combining organizational development and design with professional staffing at all levels – reaching well beyond the transaction-oriented staffing of the past.
